‘Stingingly Scrumptious” is the slogan on the bottle Dave’s Gourmet Hurtin’ Habanero Hot Sauce.
Dave’s Gourmet Hurtin’ Habanero Hot Sauce was the Winner of the National Scovie and Food Distribution Magazine Awards! This is one of their most popular hot sauces that focuses more on flavor than on overbearing heat. No way this sauce is 6,985 Scoville Units. LOL Taco Bell “Fire Sauce” is 500 Scoville Units and this sauce is milder than that. Definely not as hot as indicated. I’m adding pure habanaro puree to my bottle to increase the heat.
This isn’t a hot sauce. It’s like a flavor sauce. You really need to check that Scoville rating again, because there is no way that this sauce is that hot. Not even a tickle in my throat, nothing!
I’m not completely bashing it, though. The flavor is pretty alright, don’t get me wrong, but there’s no heat behind it at all, which is the main reason I picked it up.
Good flavor, but “hot” sauce this isn’t. I do feel a tiny burn if I drink from the bottle though.
